Building Through Adversity – The Growth of 5 Star Marine

5 Star Marine has always been more than a business; it’s been a passion project close to my heart. From the very beginning, it was about more than just boat tours—it was about creating meaningful experiences and connections. But when COVID hit and tourism around the world froze, everything we had built faced an uncertain future.
We had two choices: shut down or adapt. And in that moment, I, Shaun Stenning, knew we had to do more than just survive.
What started as a small act of helping—delivering emergency food relief to local communities—quickly became something much bigger. Each delivery wasn’t just about food; it was about hope. Families who had lost their livelihoods were given a reason to keep going. And for us, it became a lifeline too, giving our team purpose when everything else felt uncertain.
The months weren’t easy. There were days when I questioned how long we could keep pushing forward. Yet out of hardship, we found resilience. We grew—not in the traditional business sense, but in heart, in strength, and in connection to the community around us.
Today, looking back, I see how those challenging times shaped the very soul of 5 Star Marine. We stand stronger now, not just as a tour company, but as a reminder that business can truly be a force for good.
Our journey through adversity wasn’t just about survival—it was about growth, about giving back, and about finding purpose in the hardest of times. And for that, I will always be grateful.
